The Ever-Turning Leaf

A flightless bird swims through the sea
a monster rush from half a pint and a J or three
fading captain takes to the sky
laughing minions and a retard guy
with stereo eyes, prophetically wise with no family ties

Morning glory tea and a nice house with a picket fence
I can see in the window they look like a swell family
They break their fast together and wake up to salute the almighty
but they?re just pawns on a chessboard and I prefer checkers

Boring drills break through my skull
a silencing blow and they?re making the call a fortified wall
I?m drinking lava ?til my head falls off
I run up the block but I missed my bus
please cut me off, I?ve had enough and I?m way too drunk

Morning glory tea and a nice house with a picket fence
I can see in the window they look like a swell family
They break their fast together and wake up to salute the almighty
but they?re just pawns on a chessboard and I prefer checkers
